Description:
Operated by the Pea River Historical Society, the welcome center features a replica of an early 19th-century log home. On-site guides answer questions and give tours of the schoolhouse, a replica of a one-room school complete with desks, chalkboards, schoolbooks, a pot-bellied stove and other nostalgic reminders of rural American schools. Both the welcome center and nearby Little Red Schoolhouse are easily accessible from the highway, and are excellent places to get information about historic Enterprise.
